Using the Lord's prayer as a template, you will see that it's not difficult to spend an hour in prayer. Just spend 5 minutes on each step, so that's 15 minutes per section and with 4 sections, you'll use up your hour before you know it.

In fact, it'll be so amazing, you'll wonder why you only booked a single hour and you'll grab another slot in the prayer room immediately!

Section 1: Presence

  • Step 1: Psalm/Worship

Take 5 minutes enjoying a worship song.

  • Step 2: Adoration

"Our Father in heaven"
Spend 5 minutes thanking God for stuff.

  • Step 3: Confession

"Hollowed be Your name"
Take 5 minutes getting your heart right with God.

Section 2: Purpose

  • Step 1: Gospel reading

Prayerfully read a psalm of your choosing and put it in your own words.

  • Step 2: Intercession

"Your Kingdom come"
Spend 5 minutes praying for God's Kingdom to come in a situation from today's news.

  • Step 3: Mission

"Your will be done"
Invest 5 minutes praying for friends and family who don't yet know Jesus.

Section 3: Provision

  • Step 1: God's promises

Apply one of these amazing promises to your life:

Proverbs 1:33
Isaiah 40:29-31
Matthew 11:28-29
Romans 8:37-39
Philippians 4:19

  • Step 2: Petition

"Give us our daily bread"
Simply tell God your needs.

  • Step 3: Examination

"Forgive us and we forgive others"
Pray about a difficult relationship.

Section 4: Power

  • Step 1: Epistle reading

Read a chapter from a Gospel and ask God to speak to you through it.

  • Step 2: Covering

"Deliver us from evil"
What is Satan's strategy against you right now? Take authority!

  • Step 3: Adoration

"The glory is Yours"
Choose a part of God's character that you love and praise Him aloud for it.
