Here at King's Church we are passionate about students! Whether you've just arrived in Portsmouth or have been here for years we want to extend a MASSIVE welcome to you! There's loads happening this year, so do check out the details below...
Student Work at King's Church...
| Student Cell Groups: This year we will be running 8 student focused cell groups to help build a close sense of community in which we simply aim to love God, love each other, and love the community around us! These groups provide an ideal platform for us to support and encourage each other as we live our lives in the mission field of the student community. |
Student Alpha: We aim to run Alpha especially for students twice during the course of the academic year. These gatherings provide a great environment for students to freely ask questions about life and faith, and are an ideal way for the church to support students as they help to lead friends to Jesus. |
| Student Socials: The student community is a sociable place, and so we encourage sociable church! We organise monthly social events, one-off special events, weekly hang outs, and also encourage student cell groups to arrange their own little social gatherings too. These socials not only help us build a sense of community, but also to create the opportunity for us to share that valuable sense of community with our friends. |
Student Events: Throughout the year we arrange various events and trips for students. These are generally intended to encourage and inspire students as they live for Jesus, and in recent times have included... The Fusion Weekend, Jesus Culture UK, Passion London, Intensified Weekend, Soul Survivor Momentum ...and we hope soon to add into the mix student mission trips. |
| Student Outreach: We are working actively to help support and develop the Christian Union society in the university to help make the most of the mission opportunities it has on campus. Ideas are constantly being conceived and developed and we are excited about all that God has in store! ...so do get in touch if you'd like to know more! | |

King's Church is a "Fusion Connection Church", which basically means we have a pretty strong focus on students!
We work with Fusion, connecting with lots of students before they even arrive at university and helping them to begin to settle in and feel welcomed before they've even left home!!
With Facebook so popular among students, we've created groups for our King's Church Student Community and also for our role as a Fusion Point of Contact. So, if you're heading in this direction, or have struggled to connect with church since arriving in Portsmouth, then please do stop by and say hello! We'd love to hear from you, and we have loads of quality students that are looking forward to getting to know you too!
