Whilst none of us can manage to be involved in every part of church life, its still nice to know whats is going on. We hope that this area of the site will help to keep us all up to speed so that we can pray effectively for the ministries and be encouraged by the testimony of others.
Rescued into the arms of Jesus
Vijaya was born in Chennai, a southern state in India. Her father was a Muslim and her mother a Hindu. Vijaya's father died when she was eight years old. Vijaya and her mother were taken to her uncle's house where they were ill treated and abused. Later, Vijaya was sent to another house to do work. As she was very young she ran away to be with her mother again. She ran to a bus stop to catch a bus back to where her mother lived. She had no money and no other means of transport to get her to her mother. Nothing. As she was standing at the bus stop, crying for help, one lady offered to help her. She promised to provide a well paid job so she would be able to live happily with her mother. Vijaya belived the lady and followed her. The lady took her to Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra where she sold Vijaya into a prostitution centre. In the morning when Vijaya woke up, the lady had left the house. Vijaya was only 9 years old then. Very soon customers started coming to the house. She was pushed into a room; her legs and hands were tied up and she was raped continuously. There was nobody to listen to her and hear her cry; there was no body to help. Finally, one man who had sympathy on her went in as a customer and with the help of the police they were able to rescue her out of the brothel.
One year ago, Vijaya was found on the streets of Mumbai by a staff member who works for one of the organizations. She was taken to our home of refuge which we have for young girls. This home is a place for young women and girls who have been rescued from the streets. This at times is very hard for the stadd who work there. They help, love and rehabilitate broken lives, and try to bring meaning and purpose into their lives,
Three months ago, Biju heard of the organisation who Vijaya was staying with and sent her to Kerala. Biju sent her to her Sis. Mariamma's ministry where she ministers to women who have had traumatic experiences. As Mariamma was praying for her, Vijaya manifested and many demons left her. Mariamma hugged her and told her that she will be Vijaya's mother from now on. Vijaya's eyes were glowing, very soon all the hurt, guilt, low self esteem and unforgiveness to those who hurt and betrayed her, left.
Soon after, Vijaya attended a one and a half month intense Bible training course. During this time she was baptised in the school and filled with the Holy Spirit. One evening when she was having her personal prayer and worship time, she was singing a song that really touched her heart. As she was singing, tears were running down her cheeks. All of a sudden, one big angel flew down and sat beside her. The anger covered her with one wing and took all her tears in a small bowl. The he told her "the Lord has sent your tears. and loves you. The devil is crying that you came out of his hand, but the Lord is holding you close to His chest, covered in white linen". The angel wiped her tears and kissed her on her forehead and then left.
Today, Vijaya is 21 years old and is now named Debors. She is living a totally transformed life. She is committed to the Lord and her only desire is to serve Him by rescuing the girls, ones like her, who are in prostitution. She is currently back in Mumbia working in the red district area with Biju and his team.
Together we can pray and rescue many more lives of young girls who have been sold, abused and forced into prostitution.
