King's Camp 2010
Camp fireThis year, we'll be at Thriftwood Scout Campsite, Brentwood, Essex

King’s Camp offers you a chance to take time out with God and make deeper connections with others in the church, plus opportunities to share in ways you might not usually consider— all in a relaxed, fun and safe environment.

BOOKINGS OPEN ON SUNDAY 17TH JANUARY - see below for details

PLENTY OF REASONS TO JOIN US...

Open to all
Whether you're young, old, single, married, on your own, a student, in a family, carnivore, veggie, new to King's or been with us for a while, you'll fit in straight away with the broad mix of people that join us.

Save 15% when you book early
We’ve kept our fees low, but you can save 15% when you book and pay in full by 27 June. You can still pay in instalments, as long as the full balance is paid by 27 June.

Friends welcome
We design Camp mainly for members of King’s Church, but if you have a friend outside King’s who’d like to come, let us know.

Time to grow together
• Eat together
• Worship together

• Pray together

• Lodge with accommodation
• Large camping area just outside the lodge
• Rifles, caving, abseiling, go karts, toboggans
• Our own campfire circle
• All at just over 2 hours from Portsmouth

Easy to book
Simply complete a booking form. Pay either the full amount or in instalments over the months—just start with a minimum deposit of £10 per paying person (excluding 0‐4s).
You can pay by cash, cheque or standing order.

Low fees—great value
Our fees for 2010 are still:
Adult (16+): £45
Child (5‐15): £35
Baby/toddler (0‐4): Free!
We include 3 nights accommodation, activities, games, workshops and plenty of food.

Everything’s optional
Everything's optional, so if you just want to chill in the sun or get stuck into our many activities, you can ‐ there's plenty of time for both. We'll even cook for you!
We also provide engaging and safe activities for our younger campers, though often our older campers are keen to join in too!

In or out—you decide
Limited indoor single‐sex and family rooms are available on a first‐come‐first‐served basis.
If canvas is for you, then just bring your own tent, or borrow a tent for free (just indicate on the booking form and pay a £20 refundable deposit per tent).
You’ll need to set it up and pack it away yourself.
You’ll also need a sleeping bag, whichever you prefer.

Opportunities to share & help
There will be opportunities to encourage one another and to share anything God says to you leading up to or during Camp.
You can also pitch in with serving, washing and clearing up. It all helps to let our cooks take a break.

Bless someone else
If God has blessed you financially, maybe you’d like to bless those who want to go on Camp, but can’t afford it. It can be towards the cost of a particular person’s fees or a contribution to a central reserve for the Camp Team to allocate. Just let us know.

Give someone shelter or a seat
If you have a spare tent that could be used by someone else, let us know and we’ll offer it to someone who would like to camp.
If you have spare seats in your car and would like to offer them to others, let us know.

So easy to get to
The site is just over 2 hours from Portsmouth. We’ll give you directions closer to the date.
You’ll need to make your own way there, but there are limited seats on the minibus. Indicate on the booking form (£5.00 per person, to cover petrol).

Enjoy the whole weekend
Camp runs from early evening on Friday 27 August through to just after lunch on Monday 30 August.
If you can’t make the whole weekend, we may be able to offer rates for shorter stays.

Options if you can’t afford Camp
If you think you’ll struggle to pay the fees, see Paul who can advise on options available with discretion.
Please speak to us as early as you can, this way we can offer you more options.
