Welcome to the King's Church...

We meet every Sunday - 11am at Portsmouth High School for Girls (map) and 6.30pm at the Kings Centre, 37 Elm Grove (map). We would love to have you join us.
Refreshments are served from 10.30am and parking is available at the High School or at the rear of the church in the Sarah Duffen Centre in Belmont Street.

King's Walking Weekend 2010
Join us for a weekend of fresh air, great exercise, stunning views and time to get to know people new and old. Then take a well-earned rest in the evenings tucking into some hot grub, sharing and chilling out around the fire.

STUNNING LOCATION:
Nestled in the Brecon Beacons, with lakes and mountains at the doorstep, our base is only minutes away from a wealth of walking routes.

WALKS:
Walks will vary in terms of length (6-10 miles), difficulty and type, so they shouldn’t all be the same. There may also be an optional night walk if you can’t get enough. We’ll also try to take in a few local places of interest.

COST:
£40—to include petrol, accommodation and food for the whole 3-night weekend. Allow extra for an optional pub lunch on one of the days. You can pay in instalments as long as you pay the initial deposit of £15 and pay in full by Sunday 28th March.

BASE:
Scout-maintained activity centre, with centrally-heated dining area/lounge with wood-burning stove. There are 22 beds (bunks) in 4 dorms.

TIMES:
TBC. Likely to leave approx 4pm on the Friday and return around 6pm on the Monday.

AGES:
The weekend is open to all ages. Those with children should be aware of limited private rooms, walk lengths and conditions. Under 18s must be accompanied.

TRANSPORT:
Minibus(es) plus cars if needed.

SAFETY:
Walk routes have been checked by other walkers. Expect varied terrain and weather, taking precautions against natural risks (e.g. roads, animals), and wearing appropriate clothing and footwear. Whilst the walks should be manageable to most, you should have a reasonable level of fitness to complete all the walks.

LIMITED NUMBERS:
To keep costs low, we are initially only booking 16 of the 22 places, so another small group may share the facilities with us. Book as soon as you can so we can add more places if needed, before it’s too late. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
